Bio
Pierrick Allemand first studied in Montpellier, Toulouse and Barcelona. The artist is therefore very far from the pure expressionism of the North. Then, he specialised in old-fashioned fresco, a complex technique generally practised in large dimensions. At the Barcelona School of Fine Arts he covered a wall measuring 6m by 3.40m. As for Café Six in Saint-Germain-Des-Prés, the fresco is smaller but the frequency of visitors is greater and, above all, very international.
Thus it takes possession of the walls.
What counts in the eyes of Pierrick Allemand is the beat of life. The scene that unfolds before your eyes with the girl on a motorbike, the actress in her set, all these scenes represent a certain vibration that one sometimes feels close to comics and animation but here it gives way to a very personal approach of femininity.
He has been exhibiting since 1998 and follows the general trend. Thus, his New York exhibitions go from Soho to Chelsea and yet his painting is really from everywhere. Thus, we can detect a certain relationship between the streets of Pierrick Allemand (born in 1973) and the ancient market of Palermo painted by Guttuso in 1974! Art is full of these correspondences through time and space: Guttuso loved women very much and speaks of a world that is becoming more feminine.
It is necessary to see this painter out of time and totally in his century. He can be violent with light colours and tragic in a sunny atmosphere, he is a painter for the present time.
