Gilbert Petit nourishes his works with his own crossbreeding, with the languages of his African, Asian and European roots. Whatever the chosen medium, we find in it the colourful flat tints of Pop Art, the plastic language of comic strips, the language of Figuration libre and Street Art, but also, in the background, like an atavistic resurgence, the cult of ancestors and voodoo.

Gilbert Mazout’s primitive style exudes a new serenity and depth. His chalk work gives a very particular grain to his creations. His work is a result of ideas and research and can be read in different colorimetric ranges.
