PixelFaçade is a creation conceived for the Festival Un Regard neuf 3, in Montreuil, Seine Saint Denis and commissioned by CDC-Habitat (subsidiary of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations).
The installation is made up of 140m of LED tubes connected in pixel form and fixed to the façade of the 15-storey building. The ensemble functions as a screen of 100 by 14 pixels on which the artist’s visual video creations are broadcast.
For this work located in a sensitive neighbourhood that has benefited from an urban renewal plan, the choice was made to create an evolving and participative work.
The inhabitants of the building are invited to provide images of their choice. After a selection and remastering process, the artist broadcasts the images on the building’s façade. The work evolves during the 10 months of its programming according to these different entries.
