The need to poetically inhabit the world – and its expressions
Meeting with artists and architects Sébastien Mehal, Georges Saulterre, Alain Guillot and the philosopher Judith Balso to discuss the possible combinations between art, poetry and urbanism.
The poetic habitat of the world and its expressions
“Poetically inhabiting the world”, which is central to the philosophy of the H art agency, is a multi-faceted notion. The German poet, Friedrich Hölderlin, with it, lets us dream of a vision of the World, of the City and of Art.
If Man inhabits this earth, the poet asks the question of the meaning we can give to our actions. The human being, at the centre of this reflection, at the crossroads of poetry and philosophy, seems, again and again, to be looking for a new way to reinvent himself.
Hölderlin evokes this capacity that resides in Humanity to collectively build exceptional things carried by the figure of the poet and therefore by the artist. Does the artist then become an architect? How does the architect in turn become an artist?
It is in the sensitive and committed exploration that H art, cultural actor of tomorrow’s cities, brings art to the centre of current issues.
