Born in 1969, Christophe Luci was admitted in 1984 to the Institute of Fine Arts in St Luc, Belgium. He then trained in new image technologies and won third prize in the European competition “Nouvelles images”. He works with matter, pigments, charcoal and graphite. The use of dry materials, between powder and charcoal, is for him a way of returning to the sources, and to the work of the earth. A dive into the material, and also into the detail, since his works are extremely meticulous.
Recently, he has developed a technique consisting of painting with the use of his body: his fingers and feet come to perform on the sheet. Christophe Luci decides to plunge into the experimentation of the material.
In a will to let go and to bring the other in this direction, he works to make correspond, always in a dynamic of movement, his body with the material.
Christophe Luci reconnects with the need to experiment and explore new worlds.
