Bio
Fred Sapey-Triomphe is a visual artist who lives and works in Paris. Trained at the Ecole Supérieure Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris and at the Boulle school, Fred Sapey-Triomphe notably creates digital artistic installations, using light as a raw material. This enlightened visual artist, who very quickly turned to video and photography, cultivates references to Op Art, kinetic art and manga, while wielding technology to provoke an immediate visual experience. Fred Sapey-Triomphe has exhibited in several galleries, museums, festivals and public sites in France and abroad and more recently at the Condition Publique in Roubaix for “Lille 3000” in 2012, on the occasion of the Nuit Blanche in 2012 and at WHARF, center of contemporary art in Basse-Normandie for “Normandie Impressionniste” in 2013. In 2013 and 2014, he exhibited the work Pingpongscreen at the Center Pompidou-Metz, and presented his light installations Electroyéti and Electrorobot at Bercy Village. In October 2014, Le Vendôme Luxury Art and its curator Arnaud Laporte exhibited it at Hotel Le Meurice and Place Vendôme. In 2015, he installed a huge light ceiling above the Mons Belgium train station, as part of Mons 2015, and he created a light installation for the jeweler Lorenz Bäumer, Place Vendôme. In 2016, he created an interactive installation for DIAS Copenhagen in Denmark and won the competition for a light work under the A86 motorway in St Denis, near the Stade de France, launched by Plaine Commune. In 2018, he won the project for a permanent installation above the Gare Montparnasse in Paris and installed a work at the Town Hall of 18th Paris, for the Nuit Blanche. In 2019, he installed for the Un Regard Neuf 3 Festival, a luminous digital creation on the facade of a building in Montreuil.
